Fall, 2015. 35mm and medium format.
The summer of 2015's last hoorah: Garden Party at Meghan's.
On Ice is a series I shot while visiting my family in Seattle in the summer of 2014 which was later shown that fall at The Paper Box in Brooklyn, NY. Combining multiple exposures and the foggy quality of the Diana camera which it was shot on, my goal was to communicate the mixed feelings of nostalgia and chaos I felt about returning home.
In 2005 I traveled to Costa Rica and Nicaragua not only to explore the vast tropical landscape but to start a children's library on the small Nicaraguan island of Ometepe.
Non-Silver refers to the alternative and historic process of making contact prints. Most often I have used 4x5" negatives to make Salt, Cyanotype, Albumen and Van Dyke prints on watercolor paper.
Light Leaks is a series I shot on set of good friend Caitlyn Moorhead's film Hipster Clue and was later shown at The quarterly Art Soiree at Webster Hall in NYC in the summer of 2014. As the title suggests, all of these photos are examples of what happens when light is leaked onto the film without releasing the shutter. These photos are still somewhat of a mystery to me, which is what I find most beautiful and why I continue to shoot on film.
35mm shots from Alpental and Keechelus Lake in Washington. November, 2016.
